People suffering from a variety of disabilities and diseases, untreatable with other methods, are forced to take action into their own hands. Restricted takes a look into the lives of medical tourists as they travel overseas to specialized stem-cell clinics, hoping for a cure. At home, the ethical and moral debates over stem cell research and treatments continue. The film explores each argument exposing misconceptions and how different governments and the pharmaceutical industry are handling this medical revolution.
Shaun Levra is obsessed with a good story, regardless of what form it may take, and he is driven to capture the human experience. As a Puget Sound native and active filmmaker, he has held a variety of titles for numerous films and commercials in and around the Seattle area. After spending four years making fictional films he has devoted his energy to documentary films.
Currently he is co-founding a non-profit organization that will serve as a financial resource for local artists.
It is Anthony's fundamental interest in people that has inspired his pursuit of documentary filmmaking. Before making the move to Seattle, Anthony studied film production and photography at The Evergreen State College where he co-founded a non-profit organization that taught the basics of photography to migrant children. In addition to working production on a variety of film projects in and around Seattle he has produced and directed educational programming for a local government agency, co-produced and directed a documentary about the Olympia Film Society, and has held positions as staff writer and photography editor for a college news publication.
Pete Levra works as a graphic designer, animator and sound mixer. He has been working with sound for over five years. Pete has worked his way up from a production assistant, and is now recording audio around the country on several documentaries and independent films. When he's not on a set he is designing flyers and shirts or working on three of his animated cartoon series.
